My resolutions for 2012.
Happy Halloween!!!
Look at those dimples!!! What a fun weekend in my house. Friday night, I cleaned cleaned. Saturday was filled with cleaning, shopping and a nice dinner at the Texican with Nate and Matt where I accidentally had way more margarita than planned… Sunday I cleaned. Again. But while I crossed off chore after chore on my To-Do list, I watched serveral Halloween movies; Halloweentown, Halloweentown II, Halloweentown High, Addams Family Values, Practiclal Magic. Tonight, Hocus Pocus!! Later that night, Matt and Maren came over and we baked cookies, cobbler and cupcakes. I don’t really fancy deserts but I heard they were delicious. I cleaned the kitchen probably 5 times yesterday but it was worth it.
I failed to make it here last night after eating some delicious fish tacos. But it worked out because I found what I wanted to change my post to…
Twilight!
I’ll pause and let you laugh and make your smart remarks about how lame that is. But I love these fantasy novels like Twilight, Harry Potter, and Southern Vampire Mysteries because for a little, I get to live in a magical world. I’ve not been much of a reader for most of my life but since I had Mason and spend a lot more time indoors, I’ve had a lot more time to visit Half Price Books and turn some pages. Last night, I was tired of TV for once so I picked up Twilight to start the saga again and it was so wonderful to be back in Forks and entwined in the love triangle once again. Does anyone like Edward really exist? And by that, I mean his love for Bella, not the whole vampire thing.
Can we say guilty pleasures?
I now declare Tuesdays as “Happy Tuesdays.” And for two reasons: 1. I feel as if I complain, b****, and dwell on the things that make me unhappy too much. I never just sit back and say “hey, this makes me really happy.” You may think lame, but when I do take the time to appreciate the little things in life, my attitude on life is a wonderful one! 2. I don’t think Tuesdays have a good rep. I mean yah, they are the busiest at work, the weekend is still so far away and the Teen Mom season is over but at least you made it through Monday! So I am going to make Tuesday the happiest weekday of all. So what is the subject of my first “Happy Tuesday” you might ask? Drum roll…. Mason. My adorable son that I love with all of my heart and soul. I’m not normally the bragging mother I would say, but I just have to say that he is the most wonderful blessing.
This weekend was a blast! Packed with racing, friends and my new iPad!
Friday started out at The Park to bid farewell to our dear friend and coworker, Michael then Mase and I headed home to get some rest for our 5K Saturday morning. The MZ team got together for the LiveStrong 5K Challenge which was so much fun! It was pretty emotional I must say, seeing all of those walking in memory of their loved ones as well as survivors. I then received my iPad and was memorized by the Google Earth app all weekend. My map obsession will only get worse now.
Saturday night, quite a few of my friends joined me at The Stage for a post-birthday celebration. It was so great seeing everyone, even if I partied a little too hard ;) Then Sunday came around and we lounged around the house all morning until J took me out to dinner at Chili’s and again, I went to bed at 8pm…because yes, being a mom makes you lame sometimes.
How was your weekend?
Me and Mason at the Austin Livestrong 5k. We had a blast and Mase did great but we are super tired now from 5:30 am wake up!
I’m happy to have been part of a great cause and I how to do more by raising more money next time around!
